I'm over 40

When I started running in 2010, I was already classified under Junior Veteran category. (Now you can guess my actual age, right? haha!)

Does age really matter or it's just a number? I personally believe that age does matter. It's not just a number.

Effects of Over 40
I start to develop wrinkles and gray hair.

My heart rate becomes slightly slower. My blood vessels and arteries also become stiffer, causing my heart to work harder to pump blood through them.

My bones tend to shrink in size and density - which weakens them and makes them more susceptible to fracture. And I also find myself shorter in height. :) No joke!

Muscles lose strength and flexibility.

Memory also might naturally become less efficient with age. It might take longer to learn new things or remember familiar words or names.

Is Life Over after 40?

Oh no! It ain't over til it's over!

In fact, as I move into second half of my life years back, I'm starting to count how many years I have left in this world

I remember when I was younger, I never thought of this as there were so many many years ahead in life. But now, if I follow my mom's lifespan, I would  have only 20 to 30 years left in this world. And if I follow my dad's lifespan, I would have 40-50 years left in this world.

But I'm not going to sit there and wait for the sun to set.

Moving from Success to Significance

I want to make my second half of my life to be better than the firstMuch better

I want my second half of my life to be lived at its most rewarding

I want to move from success to significance.

I want to live a meaningful, purposeful life in my second half of my life.
