I took a local train from Kumamoto Station to Aso Station before hopping on a local bus to the mountain top of Japan's second largest active volcano Mount Aso (after Mount Fuji). The train journey took about 1 hour 40 minutes. It was truly a pleasant journey surrounded by nature's beauty.
