Located between Ueno and Okachimachi stations, Ameya Yokocho (Ameyoko) is a busy open-air market in Tokyo's Taito ward. It's also a wonderful location to enjoy street photography.
That day, I waited for the sky to turn blue, the shops to light up, the signboards to become colorful. With a camera, I walked through the back alleys and main streets, immersing in the energetic street vibes, looking for interesting perspectives to compose, waiting for the right moment to click.
I just loved the rich vibrant colors of shop lights and signboard lights against the beautiful blue hour sky. Japanese characters Hiragana and Katakana stood out even more during blue hour, making street scenes so uniquely Japan.
