Unlike some capital cities in Japan, Miyazaki City, the capital of Miyazaki Prefectures at the southern end of Kyushu, is not served by Shinkansen. Even so, I fell in love with the friendliness of the tourist information center's staff, the freshly baked breads at the bakery, and the soba noodle shokudo (canteen). I even bought some bread for the tourist information center's staff to thank them for going the extra mile to help me plan out my itinerary in Miyazaki. What keeps me returning to Japan over and over again is not purely for its beautiful scenery, but the people and culture.
