It was 8.30am. After breakfast at the capsule hotel, I stepped out, ready for another exciting day of Kyoto exploration on foot. Right along Gionmachi, the main street in Gion, there was a small Chugen-ji temple. I wasn't looking for it. I sort of drifted into it.It was unlike other big shrines. Small yet charming and peaceful. A pleasant discovery indeed!
