The Lake Biwa Flower Fountain is a large fountain located on a 180m breakwater in the Otsu Port offing, that sends out streams of 440m long water 40 m high into the air (equivalent of a 10 storey building). It's one of the longest fountains in the world for horizonal distance covered. It's also beautifully illuminated at night.

I was glad I asked the tourist information center's friendly lady staff whether there was a fireworks or sort at Lake Biwa upon my arrival. She then told me the time and venue of the flower fountain illumination. I was grateful to her kind help.
