Nara Park is the home to over 1,000 wild sika deer. They are considered messengers of the gods, which visitors can feed with special crackers.

During my first trip to Nara Park, one of the deer thought the map I carried was special crackers. So that deer bit off the map from my hand. Oh dear!

On my second trip, I couldn't find the same deer.  But I saw this gorgeous sika deer which posed like a model right in front of Kasuga-taisha Shrine. He just stood there letting us take good shots of him/her. Oh dear! I couldn't help but smile and smile looking at the cute deer!
