Nakajima Park is located in central Sapporo. It's a serene nature escape within the city. And the Sapporo City Astronomical Observatory is right inside the beautiful park. There is a 20-centimeter refracting telescope for viewing sunspots during the day and seasonal stars / planets at night. I went inside the observatory and used the telescope.
